Kristen Smallwood is an addiction nursing professional, substance use disorder specialist, and behavioral health consultant dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals and supporting organizations in strengthening addiction treatment services.

Kristen is a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN), Certified Addiction Counselor Level II (CAC-II), Certified Medication-Assisted Treatment Professional (CMAT), and Certified Peer Specialist – Addiction (CPS-AD). Her specialized training and extensive experience allow her to provide a comprehensive approach to addiction care that integrates clinical treatment, substance use counseling, peer recovery support, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

Through one-on-one clinical services, Kristen supports individuals navigating substance use disorders by providing personalized addiction support, recovery planning, education, treatment guidance, and evidence-based strategies to promote lasting change. She is passionate about meeting individuals where they are and creating a supportive, judgment-free environment focused on healing, growth, and recovery.

Kristen also provides consulting services for treatment centers and behavioral health organizations, helping programs develop and strengthen effective addiction treatment services. Her expertise includes program development, clinical operations, MAT implementation, staff education, workflow improvement, policy and procedure development, compliance readiness, and building sustainable recovery-focused programs.

With experience in developing, managing, and expanding substance use disorder treatment programs, Kristen understands the complexities of addiction care from both a clinical and operational perspective.
